Cyberspace

I'm now starting a web site dedicated to progressing the development and underlying technology of cyberspace. It's early days, but it's here: cyberspaceengineers.org

I wrote up some of my ideas and work whilst at Pepper's Ghost in a couple of papers which I presented at VSMM99.

The first paper summarises some of the technical aspects of the system I was designing:

Consensus: A Scalable Interactive Entertainment System

The second paper discusses some of the implications for application design:

Strategies for Scaling Interactive Entertainment

As cyberspace is such a far fetched idea I finally realised that there was little hope of visiting each company on the planet one by one in case they wanted to pursue my vision. The solution is to write a series of articles on the subject and let the interested people raise their hands.

Stability Before Security

The next article will be about security issues, has been written, but not yet published.
